I am an experienced English teacher From Vancouver, Canada living in Belo Horizonte. I have been giving advanced classes for Number 1, but the classes that I am offering you are independent of my work with Number 1. I teach private advanced/conversational/business classes both individually, and in groups, Mondays through Saturdays at my students’ homes and offices. I also give classes at Alexandrina Café in Savassi. The owner is a good friend of mine and it’s a perfect environment to have classes, plus it’s close by to everything. The address is 767 Pernambuco Street, so please feel free to go by and find out what is it like. I charge depending on your level of English and how far I have to travel to meet up with you. If I have to go over some grammar with you, such as prepositions, or phrasal verbs, the more I need to prepare the classes, and in turn, the more I would charge. My private classes usually run up around $45-50R (individual) and $20-25R (groups) for each student. Both quotes are for 1-hour classes. My transportation costs are already added in. My methodology is simple, effective and designed to help you clear up your doubts and brush up on your grammar and vocabulary. I will check out your speech, intonation, and accent. Then I jot down mistakes and put together exercises to perfect your English. The classes zoom in on guiding you to express your opinions in a communicative and a more fluent way. Class activities include: • News articles from CNN, BBC, Aljazeera. This is really interesting because the way that new articles are written is that they need to put the most amount of words into the lest amount of space. This form of writing allows you to build up your vocabulary and brush up on your informative reading skills • Speak Up! Class discussions about your industry, your studies, your opinions, your outlook on life • Book reviews • Grammar exercises • Student requests* • Cambridge test preparations (FCE, CAE, CPE)** * Two-way communication is encouraged because a private class with a native speaker needs to be customized to the students’ needs ** If needed -- Thank you for your interest.
